Enjoy a private hiking tour at the Tiger Leaping Gorge with a professional guide. Discover the perfect adventurous and off-the-beaten routes, Naxi culture, and magnificent mountain, gorge, and river scenery.

Meet your guide at your hotel in Lijiang and drive to the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Hike along the well-marked trails that are easy to follow. The path gets very narrow in some places, so you have to walk carefully next to a cliff face. The path isn't really dangerous, except in the rainy season.

Hike along the 8-km route from 14-Km Point to Halfway Guesthouse and then to Tina's Guesthouse. The 14-Km Point at the foot of the Haba Snow Mountain can be accessed by driving and you can still enjoy the snow mountains, waterfalls, and the panorama of the Gorge. Stop for lunch at Halfway Guesthouse.

For the adventurous, the hike from Tina's Guesthouse to the Middle Gorge unveils the beauty of the Gorge from the bottom with a quick, steep climb. Middle Gorge trails along the roaring Jinsha River offer unbeaten views of the sheer powerful gorge.

Climb the steep Sky Ladder for an adventure. The most popular route is Teacher Zhang's Trail in and Sky Ladder out, which offers the best experience and is time-saving. Start from Tina's Guesthouse and descend along Teacher Zhang's Trail near the cliff to reach the bottom of the Middle Gorge.

The dangerous 'Starry Sky Reef' marks the narrowest part of the gorge and you have the option to step out onto Tiger Leaping Rock via a hanging wooden suspension bridge. Follow the paths to Sky Ladder. The Sky Ladder is very steep. If you are afraid of heights, you can take another trail back to Tina's Guesthouse.
