Jiulong Nine Dragons Waterfalls

The Jiulong Waterfalls are located to the northeast of Luoping in Yunnan Province. The waterfall system is over 4 km long and drops over 100 m. The waterfalls are situated in picturesque surroundings and can be heard from far away. Visitors are rewarded with spectacular views over the towering cascades.

Marvel at the Magnificent Jiulong Waterfalls. As you enter the scenic area of the Jiulong Waterfalls, the sound of rushing water gradually fills your ears. The Jiulong Waterfalls are a series of cascades that flow down a limestone riverbed. The main waterfall is particularly impressive, with its powerful flow of water crashing down from a great height, creating a misty spray that shimmers in the sunlight. The water roars and thunders as it hits the rocks below, showcasing the raw power of nature.

What sets the Jiulong Waterfalls apart is the variety of the falls. There are waterfalls of different sizes and shapes, each with its own charm. Some are wide and gentle, while others are narrow and forceful. Along the way, you can walk on the well-built paths and bridges that wind through the lush greenery, getting up close to the waterfalls and feeling the cool mist on your face. There are also several viewing platforms where you can admire the falls from different angles and appreciate the harmonious blend of water, rock, and vegetation. In addition to the waterfalls themselves, the surrounding natural scenery is also stunning. The dense forests, colorful wildflowers, and clear streams add to the overall beauty of the area.

You can take your time exploring the scenic area, enjoying the tranquility and natural beauty, and perhaps take a wooden raft to get close up to the waterfalls.

Duoyi River Scenic Area

The Duoyi River is located in the southeast of Luoping County. The Douyi River has clear and emerald green water. You can paddle down the river on bamboo rafts. There are beautiful waterfalls and shoals to see at various points in the resort. Along the river, there are also sugarcane fields, and banana fields owned by Bouyei people, a leisure embankment and a wharf with bamboo rafts for private use. You can also walk along the jasper banks of Duoyi River or float to the resort on rubber rafts.

Luoping Rapeseed Flower Fields

The Luoping Rapeseed Flower Fields attract many travel and photography enthusiasts. Places recommended for viewing and photographing the rapeseed flowers include the Jinji (“golden rooster”) Peaks, Niujie Township, Wanzi Lake Reservoir, and Shiwanda Mountain. Every year during the blooming season, Luoping is submerged under a sea of rapeseed flowers in riotous bloom.

Immersing in the Sea of Rapeseed Flowers. As you approach Luoping, a breathtaking sight unfolds before your eyes. In spring, the vast expanse of the fields is blanketed with a sea of golden rapeseed flowers that stretches as far as the eye can see. The bright yellow petals glisten under the sun, creating a vivid and dreamy landscape.

What makes the Luoping Rapeseed Flower Fields truly unique is the combination of the flowers with the surrounding karst landforms. The gently rolling hills, dotted with the occasional traditional farmhouse, provide a picturesque backdrop to the sea of flowers. You can take a leisurely stroll along the paths winding through the fields, breathing in the sweet fragrance of the blossoms and enjoying the warm spring breeze. There are also local vendors selling handmade crafts, honey and delicious local snacks, allowing you to experience the local culture while taking in the scenery.

For a more panoramic view, go up one of the nearby hills. From the vantage point, the entire expanse of the rapeseed flower fields looks like a golden tapestry, interspersed with patches of green vegetation and the meandering rivers flowing through it. It's a perfect spot for taking stunning photos to capture the beauty of this natural wonder.
